Allergies affect about 40% of the population in western countries, costing billions of dollars yearly in expensive drugs, hospitalizations and therapeutic treatments. Unfortunately, current treatments are insufficient or frequently resulting in adverse effects. Research conducted at the laboratory of Prof Doron Melamed is now aiming to develop new therapeutic compound capable to desensitize allergies in high efficacy.
